We feel that incorporating technology in a home inspection isn't just a bonus service, it's the standard. In today's age, it's not enough to inspect a home armed with just a pencil, paper and flashlight. We make a great effort in investing in new technology that will dramatically improve the quality and efficiency of the inspection.

Pictures

Both inspectors use 10+ megapixel digital cameras and often take over 100 pictures per inspection. These pictures show you, the client, areas we address as clearly as possible. We include many of the pictures we take on the report.

How We Report

At the end of the inspection we will not hand you a short handwritten checklist report indicating items that are "good," "fair" or "in need of repair." Each inspector has their own pocket PC that is loaded with the same reporting software we use in our office. We find that this system is incredibly efficient, and more importantly, gives us more face time with our client to ask questions. After the inspection, we load the information, along with our pictures and digital notes, into one of our office computers. This is how we are able to compose a 20-30 page report that is clear, profession, and thorough. The completed report will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours, plus we will print out a copy of the report and mail it to your home address the next business day.

Our Tools

The various tools and gadgets we carry aren't just for show. They help identify problems that a normal visual inspection simply can't see.

    - It's easy to tell if an electrical outlet is getting power, but we also test for hidden problems such as reverse polarity, or an open ground circuit. You'll want to know these things before plugging in your computer or big screen TV

 - There's a stain on the ceiling. Is it a scar from a past problem, or are you buying into an active leak? Our moisture meter measures the moisture content of the surface, and tells us if it is an active problem.

    - Did you know that termites produce more CO2 than all other living things combined from their digestion of cellulose? We use a TDS (Termite Detection System) that is capable of finding as few a 3 termites by measuring CO2 levels. We are a licensed pest control company certified in category 43, (termites and structural pests,) and provide a thorough inspection for all wood destroying insects, (termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, carpenter bees and old house borer beetles.)

TDS

Wood destroying insect detection is NOT part of a standard MA home inspection, so please ask us about this optional service.

 - High performance Stinger flashlights, laser temperature meters, microwave oven leakage meters, digital voltage meters, etc. Our tools are regularly updated and we're always looking for ways to make our inspections more thorough, safe, and efficient.
